Country: Approx 35,000 acres of sweet undulating pebbly semi-downs or Gidyea country with a light scattering of Mitchell, Flinders & Blue grass as well as a very good coverage of sweet summer herbages such as button grass, pigweed, saltbush and cow vine.  This country will carry a good mixture of winter herbages when in season  and is quick responding following rainfall.  There is also approx 15,000 acres of Gidyea.  Most of the old Gidyea was pulled in 1987/88 with more pulled in 1992.  Regrowth has continually been pulled since August 2000 on a "need to basis".  There is approx 2,000 acres of sandy soils.  The balance of the country is river or creek channels interspersed with claypans and good flood-out country.  Whitewood, Boree, Vinetree, Leopardwood, Gidyea and Sandalwood are the main timbers with Coolibah and Bauhinia in creek and river channels.  The timber and shrubs on Strathdarr contribute very good quality top feed for the cattle especially in dry seasons.
Rainfall: Annual average of 17 inches. Over 300mm for Jan/Feb 2009.
Water: There are 14 dams ranging in size from 15,000 cubic yards to 30,000 cubic yards.  Most are full at present and they are on good quick easy fill catchments with many considered permanent dams.  3 of the dams are equipped with solar pumps, tanks and troughs.  5 dams are equipped with windmills, tanks and troughs.  There are five stone over-shots plus several permanent and semi-permanent water holes along the creeks and the 12km double frontage to Darr River.  The homestead supply comes from a 30,000 cubic yard dam that can be supplemented by water from the river if required.
Improvements: The main homestead is a 22sq timber constructed house with 3 bedrooms, office and evaporated A/C.  The second house is also of timber construction with 2 bedrooms, office and split system refrigerated A/C. 2 bedroom fully self-contained donga.  There is a large machinery shed, old 10 stand shearing shed and other outbuildings.  The boundary fencing is mostly good with approximately 16km of new boundary along the southern and eastern side.  Most of the fencing is a mixture of 2 barb and plain wire or ring-lock with 2 barbs.  The majority of the internal fencing is in good to very good condition with some new sections as well.  The new fencing is 3 or 4 barbs on steel pickets.  There are 14 paddocks ranging in size from 1,200 to 11,000 acres.  Seven of these paddocks have immediate access to the cattle yards.  A good set of steel cattle yards complete with CIA crush.
